On Saturday, the PAC (Payload Assembly Composite) left the S5B building on the PFRCS (Plate-Forme Routière du Composite Supérieur), which is a dedicated truck equipped with ventilation to keep the PAC in an acceptable temperature range:
Once arrived at the ZLV launch pad, the PAC was hoisted to the top of the gantry:
It was then brought inside the gantry where the lower part of the launcher has been assembled:
On Monday, the PAC has been placed on top of the launcher. It was first set down on spacers to be able to finalise the electrical connections:
After a first electrical check of both Sentinel-3C and Flex satellites via the umbilical cables, the PAC was mated on the launch vehicle!
Today the flight ventilation (retracted at lift-off) has been installed and the rocket is almost in its final flight configuration.
The next activity planned this Thursday is the Dress Rehearsal: the final countdown procedure will be exercised to check that everything is ready for the launch day.
